================== FAKE MEM CLEAR 83+ ================== By Luke Haywas 2 November 1999 Version 0.5 Beta 1 Ever load a bunch of great math/science programs onto your calculator for the test tomorrow, then when you walk in the instructor walks over to every calculator and makes sure the mem is cleared? Well if you do not have two calculators, one empty and one full to do a switcheroo after the teacher sees he empty one, you need some way of making the teacher think you cleared the mem. Many programs throw up a screen which mimics the "Mem cleared" screen, but if the teacher has half a brain he will just push the PRGM button to make sure the programs are gone. Well FAKEMEM solves this problem because it mimics that screen too! What I did was take some screenshots of the calc in those modes, then saved them to pics. This means you need Pics 1, 3, and 4 empty on your calc. You can change them to whatever by editing the program. Since it is written in BASIC I found it very difficult to simulate the blinking cursor on the home screen. That's why it's only version 0.5. When I learn ASM I will do it for real if there is enough demand. However I am pretty sure that the screens this throws up will fool the teacher pretty well. To use: Just run prgmFAKECLR, then push ENTER. Wait for the instructor to walk by. Show him the screen, then before he has time to notice the cursor is missing, press PRGM and show him the blank prgm screen. Then press CLEAR to exit. Simple, practical, and efficient. Except that it uses up three pics, I will try to get around that in the next version. Although this program is absolutely harmless, maybe you will cause it to do something bad to your calculator. I am not repsonsible for anything that this program does to you, your calc, your dog, your toilet, your house, your car, or your computer. If it makes your calculator explode it's your own fault. Get it? Got it? Good.
