PI PLOTTER Version 1.2 by Kiros Lionheart -- CONTENTS -- I. Installation II. Using this Program III. Tips IV. Known Bugs V. Version History -- I - Installation -- To install this program on your TI-83 Plus, just send pi.8xp to your calculator using the TI-Graph Link. The source code to this program is in the text file called pi_source.txt. NOTE: This program should run on a regular TI-83 -- II - Using this Program -- To use this program, just run it on your calculator and select START. Choose the number of iterations. The larger the number, the more accurate your final calculation will be. Now, choose values for the Y-axis. The X-axis will be sized automatically depending on the number of iterations you entered. First, a straight line will be drawn. This line represents pi as far out as the calculator knows it. The number in the top-left corner is the current iteration. When this number gets up to the number you entered before, the program will pause. While the number is counting up, you will see points forming. These point are a representation of the pi. As you can see, they do not fall on the line. The more iterations you do, the closer they will get to the line. -- III - Tips -- Try running this program on VTI with the "Restrict Speed" option turned off. The program will run a lot faster :) -- IV - Known Bugs -- If you select a lot of iterations and don't have enough memory, you it is possible that you may get a Memory Error. -- V - Version History -- 1.2 -Can now perform as many iterations as you wish -No longer displays the stat plot at the end -Now you can see the final calculation of pi when all of the iterations are performed 1.0 -First public release on the TI-83 Plus -=-=-=-=- Questions?
