================================== Distance Equation for TI-83(+) v 1.1 ================================== By Andrew Boughton __________________________________ Sections: -Intro -History -Using -Editing -Contact Intro: Dist is a small, easy program for the Ti-83+. Basically, it eliminates the tedium of using the distance formula by making it easy to find the distance between any two points on a graph. This program was upgraded on 9/20/00. History: V 1.1 Added a function to show the square of the answer in the square root- for example, a decimal distance like 2.8284 will also be displayed as a more familiar, and more precise, number- the square root of 8. Also tried to keep the program small. V 1.0 Created this program, 9/18. It displays the distance between any two points on a graph, as well as the distance formula. Using this program: After the program displays the distance equation (slightly compacted to display on one line), you will be prompted for the coordinates- first X2, then Y2, then X(1) and Y(1). This arrangement makes it even easier to enter the points- just read from left to right instead of worrying about possible mistakes made skimming the page. Once the points are entered, the calculator quickly provides the distance as well as showing the new feaure I described in Version history. Editing: As always, this program is free for you to edit as you please. However, please limit credit to the documentation- keep the program small- and please credit the original author. Any major and helpful changes can be emailed to me- I'd be interested. Contact: If you need help using this program, that really stinks. But if you would like to ask any questions, or to submit any changes to the program, email me at WPL510@yahoo.com . I also maintain a completely unrelated web page of stuff at www.geocities.com/WPL510 . Enjoy this program, and consider checking my other main project, Phys, also for the TI-83+. Basically it's a collection of Physics equations that works in a similar manner to Dist.
