** ABOUT

Izzard is a 99% Ion-compatible shell for the 83+. It features an unique GUI and security features.


** INSTALLATION

Send IZZARD.8XG to your calculator. The following programs will be transferred: A, IZZARD, ZIZZARD

You may archive ZIZZARD to save space. If you do, it will be streamed (not unarchived) from flash when needed. Your archive will never wear out from this method.


** USAGE

Run prgmA to start Izzard. You will see the Izzard desktop. Note: You do not have to be centered over an icon to 'click' it. Anywhere within or on the rectangle surrounding the icon will suffice.


*DESKTOP CONTROLS
Arrow keys	- move 'mouse' cursor
2nd		- 'Click' or select icon
Mode		- Exit Izzard
On		- Power off calculator (lockdown if password protection installed)

*PROGRAM MANAGER/EXPLORER CONTROLS
Arrow keys	- function same as Ion, move through programs
2nd/Enter	- run currently selected program
F1-F5		- change folder
Prgm		- move program to folder (press Prgm followed by F1-F5)
On		- Power off calculator
Mode		- Return to desktop

*OPTIONS/SETTINS MENU CONTROLS
Number keys	- Toggle option
Mode		- Return to desktop

** PASSWORD

INSTALLATION - When you first run Izzard, there will be no password installed. To install your password, go to the Password icon on the desktop. You will be prompted to enter a password (max. 8 chars). Press enter when finished.

USING - When you start Izzard, press the On key, or access the password icon, you will need to enter your password. Simply type it followed by the enter key.

CHANGING - To change your password, go to the password icon on the desktop. You will be prompted for your old password, type it in. Then you will need to enter your new password. (If you wish to delete your password press enter without entering anything as your new password).

IF YOU FORGET - If you forget your password and can't run Izzard, you'll have to reset your RAM. If you powered off your calculator in Izzard and when you turn it on, can't remember your password, you will have to take a battery out and put it back in to clear your memory. You must keep the battery out at least 4 seconds to ensure Izzard doesn't keep running.

** MISC.

In the About screen, the ROM version will be listed as 266, 268, etc. The format for this number is (major version * 256) + minor version.

** INCOMPATIBLITIES

While Izzard is completely compatible with Ion, ZTetris will crash Izzard because it uses RAM areas not correctly defined in ion.inc. There's nothing I can do about this, contact the authors of ZTetris and ask them to use saferam1 instead of the statvars.
