+----------------------------------------------------------+ | Lowercase! 1.1 | | by Danny Whitman | | 12-31-99 | +----------------------------------------------------------+ >Requirements A TI-83 Plus with Ion istalled >Installation Send lowrcase.8xp to your calculator and run Ion. >Description Lowercase! is a simple little program that allows you to use lowercase letters in the TI-83P OS. >Use When you run Lowercase! there are three options: 1)Enable Lwrcase 2)Dsable Lwrcase 3)Cancel You can press 1,2, or 3. 1 will enable lowercase alpha throughout the TI-83P OS. 2 disables lowercase alpha and 3 returns to Ion without changing the lowercase alpha state. >Using lowercase aplha Once lowercase alpha has been enabled press alpha twice from the normal cursor (on the home screen, program editor, etc.) to enter one alpha character. While the current cursor is in lowercase alpha mode press 2nd then Alpha to enable lowercase alpha-lock. >Origin I was playing around a while ago with CalcSys (by the way I'd like to thank Dan Englender for this great app) and I was looking at all the different system flags. I noticed one under the get/send flags labeled 'lowercase' so I enabled it. Surely enough all OS funtions now used lowercase. Although it isn't mentioned anywhere in the manual nor in the OS the TI-83P OS has, as far as I can tell, full implementation for lowercase letters. I thought it was neat so I quickly whipped up this program. >History All that is added in version 1.1 is an actual .asm file rather than hex machine code. I converted the machine code to assembler because someone asked me to make a Lowercase! for the regular 83. But unfortunately the regular 83 OS doesn't support lowercase as the 83P OS does. So dispite the fact that the asm source code which I have included seems like it supports regular 83, it won't work. >Thanks I'd like to thank Dan Englender for the CalcSys app and Joe Wingbermuehle for Ion, the first, and in my opinion, best TI-83P shell.
