** ABOUT

Latin Translator translates from Latin to English over 703 Latin words. This program should contain enough vocabulary for a first-year Latin student and possibly second year, depending on your school's Latin program. The Latin is the virtually entire vocabulary of the book: "Ecce Romani I"


** USAGE

Send latin.8xg to your 83+. ZLATIN is the data file, don't run it. Run Latin Translator from Ion. At the menu you can type a Latin word and translate it into English or enter as much of the beginning letters of the word as you know and a match will be displayed. You can also perform an English to Latin search. Note that all verbs must be entered in the infinitive form. All nouns and adjectives and such should be entered in the nominative singular. Note: I tried to change them all into that form, but if you still can't find the word your looking for, try typing the accusative singular before giving up. Some (very few) phrases are also included, such as "magna voce - in a loud voice". Have fun!

** CREATING YOUR OWN LATIN FILES

You can create your own data file, just make sure it is named ZLATIN. Follow the format of the zlatin.asm file. In fact, you don't have to put Latin.

** MISC.

I was going to include a nifty picture of a Roman building in the lower corner, but with my drawing ability it looked like random dots. If anyone wants to send me a sprite to include in the next version, fine, I'll give you credit.
